The preferred way to install any application on Ubuntu is to use the Official Ubuntu repository. You can use any package search at http://packages.ubuntu.com.
But sometimes the problem with the process that goes through is not successful because of various things.
then try this way.
To install you can run
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable
sudo ap-get update
sudo apt-get install kdenlive
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-stable
sudo ap-get update
sudo apt-get install kdenlive
